Serien-Minimalismus für die Reise: Vagabonde MINIMAL

Was in den USA und UK bereits von einigen Maßrahmenbauern praktiziert wird, haben jetzt auch die französischen Kollegen von Vagabonde Cycles auf die Felgen gestellt: ein Serienmodell ohne Maßrahmen.

Das Vagabonde MINIMAL ist jedoch alles andere als minimalistisch, sondern vielmehr ein komplettes Reiserad mit (in Frankreich) vorgefertigtem Serienstahlrahmen und Komplettausrüstung inklusive Rohloff-Antrieb, Front-/Heck-Gepäckträgern und allem anderen, was man zum Radeln braucht. Das Ganze gibt es ab Anfang Mai 2013 in vier Größen, sechs Farben und angeblich nur 2-3 Wochen Lieferzeit ab äußerst fairen 2.990 Euro.

  • Der Vordere Gepäckträger (Porteur), ich finde nichts über ihn, weder Tragleistung noch Bezugsquelle, irgend jemand?

  • WTF? Is it cost €3000?! For €1500-2000 you can get a custom made(!) state of the art bike from some talented guys like Merenyi (listed here as well).
    Not in 2-3 weeks, for sure, cos it’s custom made, but I don’t really think that anyone who would buy a bike for 3 thousad Euros couldn’t wait a little more for that H.U.G.E. difference.

  • Mhh, komplett mit Rohloff wäre 3000 € für custom made so schlecht nicht, schau dir mal an was ein Idworx kostet. auch ein Velotraum ist nicht unbedingt billiger, selbst Patria ist in dem Preisbereich – sollte es sich allerdings nur um das Rahmenset handeln, dann ja, wäre das eindeutig, ähhh, höherpreisig.

  • 3.000 Euro für ein Komplettbike mit Rohloff und Vollausstattung ist vollkommen OK. Es geht natürlich immer günstiger und schöner. Es geht aber auch deutlich teurer und schöner. Oder teurer und hässlicher. Der Vergleich mit einzelnen Rahmenbauern oder Herstellern hinkt doch immer.

    yep, I know Mereny for his comics for a loooong while, way before he decided to move to Italy and learn how to build bike frames. On the other hand I’ve checked the prices, and I think you can’t get a Merenyi for €2k especially not with a Rohloff.

    Have you met him in Bristol or in London a couple of month ago?
